This series of work is a cacophonous typhoon of images, shapes, paint applications and colors like a festive and drunken tribal-dance around a howling fire. It visually emits a sound like the industrial and repetitive music in an urban discothèque, where throngs of young men and women jump in ritualistic dances and consume magic potions. Nature, advertising, Batik, floral design, middle-class materials stolen from reality and plastic colors, commercial photos ripped from Magazines are latticed in a process that incorporates painting, collage, sculpture and construction into a large organic mutant bodies that consumes everything that strays too close. I want to create a bridge that links Malaysia’s mystical past, folklore and nature with its complex and fluctuating contemporary urban culture.
